Explore the Mysterious Back Woods at Fort Tilden

TIMESunday, October 22nd, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

LOCATION: Building 1 at Fort Tilden

The leaves are falling and the mysteries of the Back Woods at Fort Tilden are now revealed. Walk the woods with American Littoral Society naturalist Mickey Maxwell Cohen to search for signs of autumn nature and little-known historic fortifications of World War II. This is an American Littoral Society / G.N.R.A. Partnership Program.

DIRECTIONS TO FORT TILDEN:

Subway & bus: Take the #2 or #5 train to Flatbush Ave. / Brooklyn College and then the Q-35 bus past Floyd Bennett Field and just over the Marine Parkway - Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge. Ask the bus driver to let you off at Fort Tilden. Check Sunday train schedules ahead of time.

By car: From exit 11s on the Belt Parkway, head south and over the Marine Parkway - Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge. Stay on the right and take the right ramp toward Breezy Point. Make a quick left into Fort Tilden at the first light. Go to the end and park by Building 1 or at the nearby Post Chapel.
